A Couple of Cute Ones from Nathan Tonight

Talking about where God is:

Nathan: Is He above the clouds?
Me: Well, yes...He's everywhere.
Nathan: So it's like a cloud sandwich!

As I'm carrying him to bed:

Nathan: Mom, I'm going to carry you to bed.
Me: I think I'm too heavy for you.
Nathan: Yeah, you're way too heavy. You're like 5!

Ahhh, Spring!

Which brings lots of mud with the warmer weather. Nathan's cute new vocabulary word: "muddle". Brad overheard him call a muddy puddle that last night. ;)

This is an old one from shortly after the carpet got put in, but I don't think I ever posted it. This was the last time they were allowed to slide down the stairs as I realized their blue jeans were rubbing color off onto the carpet. :( Probably best -- for safety reasons as well!

Sam's Traumatic Hair Cuts

Okay, so some of you may find this cruel and unusual...but sometimes you just have to laugh at a child's complete freak-out over something so harmless. His haircuts usually go this way. Nathan, on the other hand, loves his haircuts. Maybe that will come with time for Sam as well, but I'm not so sure, given the way he's started out.

Bekah's Glasses

I just realized I don't have a picture to go along with this post yet...I'll have to work on that! Anyways, Bekah failed (miserably, as I understand it) her standard eye exam with the pediatrician in December and we were sent to the ophthalmologist (wow -- that's a tough word to spell!). Apparently, a normal level of far-sightedness for a 5 year old is +1. Bekah is at a +6. Brad and I (neither of whom have glasses) must just be carriers for bad eye genes. :( The funny thing is that both the girls needed glasses right at their fifth birthdays. I'm kind of bracing myself for Nathan's birthday this year...

Bekah

Bekah is not my nap taker, so I was especially surprised by this! While doing school one morning, I knew she must not have been feeling well when I checked on her out in the living room and found her wiped out in the rocking chair. She even took another nap in the afternoon that day!
